Film forming additive
The excellent SEI film (solid electrolyte film) has organic solvent incompatibility, allowing lithium ions to enter and exit the electrode freely while solvent molecules cannot pass through, thus preventing the destruction of the electrode caused by the co-insertion of solvent molecules and improving the cycle efficiency and reversible capacity of the battery.
It is mainly divided into inorganic film-forming additives (SO₂, CO, CO and other small molecules and lithium halides, etc.) and organic film-forming additives (fluorinated, chlorinated and brominated carbonates, etc.). The electron-withdrawing effect of halogen atoms improves the power-generating ability of the central atom, so that the additives can reduce and effectively passivate the electrode surface under higher potential conditions to form a stable SEI film.) It is also reported that the addition of trace amounts of anisole or its halogenated derivatives in the non-aqueous electrolyte of lithium ion batteries can improve the cycle performance of the battery and reduce the loss of irreversible capacity of the battery.
